Who we are

Common Ground was founded by Britta Baskerville, a dedicated soil health educator, compost operations specialist, and grants program technician with over a decade of hands-on experience in regenerative agriculture and ecological stewardship. Britta holds a Bachelor of Science in Conservation Resource Studies from UC Berkeley and has trained in ecological design, organic farming systems, and certified compost operations. Her career spans roles in community education, grant program management, and technical assistance with leading organizations such as the UC Cooperative Extension and Santa Rosa Junior College.

Driven by a commitment to regeneration and community resilience, Britta launched Common Ground to integrate composting, ecological deathcare, and soil health services into accessible programs focused on healing both land and community. Under her leadership, Common Ground supports farmers, land stewards, and individuals navigating loss by returning nutrients - and meaning- to the soil.
